  • Twice was formed from the music survival show SIXTEEN (2015). JYP Entertainment took 16 of its trainees to compete weekly to be placed in one of two categories: major or minor. Major contestants were treated to a nice dorm, company transportation, and allotted the practice room from morning to night. Minor contestants essentially had a run down dorm, little help from the company, and allotted the practice room from night to morning. This made the show highly controversial given the living conditions of the minor contestants.
