Cosmic Girls - Secret (2016)

- This is the first release that includes the thirteenth member Yeun Jung. Despite Yeun Jung initially training to debut with Cosmic Girls, she was taken out of the group to participate on the music survival show Produce 101 (2016). She placed eleventh in the season, earning her a spot in I.O.I. She is currently on hiatus from I.O.I to debut with Cosmic Girls.
- Cosmic Girls’ concept is that each member represents one of the twelve Zodiac signs. To introduce Yeun Jung, a special teaser was released showing the constellation Ophiuchus. This is a valid additional astrological sign, as some astrologers do not equally divide the ecliptic but rather use the constellations’ actual widths, which places Ophiuchus between Scorpio (ending on November 29) and Sagittarius (starting on December 17).
- Some scenes that were supposed to be in the music video were shot at the Sinduri Coastal Sand Dunes, a national monument and protected wildlife refuge. Even though the production crew had proper permits to film at the location, the park volunteers that day did not know this and called local authorities to remove them from the site. The production company apologized for the misunderstanding and made the decision not to use any footage shot there in the final edit of the music video..
- The eye pieces worn by SeolA and Exy in the car (1:04) seem to be scouters, a portable computer used in the Dragon Ball universe. It is generally used to see opponent battle power and for telecommunication.
- Exy is wearing Adidas NMD City Socks (S79152) in the car scenes (2:01).
- The pendulum hanging on the rear view mirror of the car (1:06) is also used by Dawon to evoke the summoning symbol from the book (2:42).
- SeolA has an extreme fear of water/swimming. In the first episode of Cosmic Girls’ reality show My Cosmic Diary, the group’s task was to do an underwater photoshoot for the show’s title. SeolA failed both basic training and diving due to anxiety but was finally able to submerge just below the surface for the shoot.
- Cheng Xiao has no solo lines in their debut song “MoMoMo” (FMF 2016-02-26); she has three in “Secret”. Her paltry solo line count is supposedly due to her being the group’s main dancer. Regardless, she does cool aerials in live performances: https://youtu.be/GGID5mmO2gE?t=1m.
