Soyeon is currently participating on the singing competition show Girl Spirit (2016), which highlights the vocal talents of members from underrated girl groups. Solbin recently took the position as MC on weekly music show Music Bank, along with CNBLUE’s Kang Min Hyuk. They replaced actor Park Bo Gum and Red Velvet’s Irene.²

The choreography for the second promoted song on the album “Oops!” was created by LABOUM themselves.³,⁴

LABOUM members commonly appear in labelmates’ music videos. Some examples include Yulhee in U-KISS’ “Standing Still”⁵ and “Inside of Me”⁶, Solbin in Brown Eyed Girls’ “One Summer Night”⁷ and U-KISS’ “Stalker”, and the group in Lim Chang Jung’s “Shall We Dance With Dr. Lim”.⁸

This video is released in 4K, which is still a rather uncommon distribution resolution. Even if you do not have a native 4K display, downsampling 4K to 1080p or lower will be higher quality than viewing the provided 1080p option. This is because videos typically are compressed using 4:2:0 chroma subsampling, a method of throwing away color information to lower video bitrate, i.e., to optimize for filesize and bandwidth. This allows the exploitation of the human psychovisual model, which is tuned and more sensitive to luminance (brightness) than chrominance (color).

In the instance of 4:2:0 (J:a:b), the sampling region of Jx2 pixels (4x2) is given ax1 (2x1) chroma samples in the first row and bx1 (0x1, i.e., no samples) in the second row. The second row must then duplicate the chroma values of the first. This effectively means that the chroma channels have half the horizontal and vertical resolutions, or 75% loss in color information. Of course, this still gives acceptable image quality in general use cases.

Downsampling 4K to 1080p is a 50% reduction in both dimensions, allowing a single pixel to have full chroma information, as if it were never subsampled (4:4:4). This leads to a higher quality image with better color detail.
