SPICA’s name is a reference to the constellation Virgo’s brightest star of the same name.¹

This is SPICA’s first release in nearly 2 years since GHOST in November 2014.²

In October 2014, Sihyun legally changed her name from Joohyun.³ Joohyun is a gender-neutral name registered by her parents, who were expecting a boy, but she was called Sihyun as she was growing up.⁴ (Fun fact: Girls’ Generation Seohyun (Seo Joo Hyun) and Red Velvet’s Irene (Bae Joo Hyun) also avoid using their real given name.)

Bohyung is currently participating on singing competition show Girl Spirit (2016), which highlights the vocal talents of members from underrated girl groups. She ranked second in the first episode, making her the leader of team B on the show.⁵ Other notable performances include placing 2nd with “The Unwritten Legend”⁶ (ep. 3 (2016-08-02)), 2nd with “Across the Universe”⁷ (ep. 5 (2016-08-16)), and 3rd with “Mom”⁸ (ep. 6 (2016-08-23), collab. with CLC’s Seunghee).
