The group worked under the codename PLEDIS Girlz while training. In January 2017, the group revealed their official name PRISTIN, a portmanteau of “prismatic” (bright and vivid) and “elastin” (flawless strength).2
Seven of the ten members appeared on music survival show Produce 101 (2016): Kyulkyung (final rank 6), Nayoung (final rank 11), Eunwoo (final rank 21), Rena (as Kang Ye Bin; eliminated in 3rd round), Xiyeon (as Park Si Yeon; elminated in 3rd round), Roa (as Kim Min Kyung; eliminated in 2nd round), and Yuha (as Kang Kyung Won; eliminated in 2nd round).3
Many of the members participated as backup dancers for Orange Caramel’s “My Copycat” (2014).4
This album is “self-produced” by the group. Every song has at least one member credited for it.5
