Chuu (b. 1999-10-20) is the tenth member of LOOΠΔ.

[0:11] Spot the gear: Chuu is using a Canon EOS 550D (known as the EOS Rebel T2i in the US) with a Canon 70-200 mm lens.

[0:27] Chuu is following fellow LOOΠΔ member Yves, who made her solo debut last month (FMF 2017-12-01).

[0:27] Yves is reading the 1954 novel “Aphrodite Means Death” by John Appleby. This may be a play on Yves’ apple theme (Appleby), and the book is published by Penguin Books (Chuu’s animal is a penguin). Chuu’s animal was also (unknown at the time) shown in teasers for Yves last month.¹

[1:01] The subject would be impossible to focus at this distance as the closest focusing distance for this lens 1.2 m (~4 ft).

[1:12] Chuu is watching the Yves’ music video for “new”, mimicking scenes and choreography. Yves swings into a cygnet (the animal she represents), while Chuu hits a penguin.

[1:39] Spot the gear: Yves is using an Apple iPhone 5C, which may be another apple reference.

[2:32] The sinister laugh and scene during the bridge is a reference to the 1845 story “The Little Match Girl”. The lead character ends up dying from hypothermia but not before hallucinating of happier times, similar to how Chuu finally finds herself with together with Yves before “dying” (3:27).

[2:38] An alternate theory is when Chuu takes a bite of the apple, she was transported/exiled to the same place Yves went.

[3:27] LOOΠΔ’s “The Carol (HeeJin, HyunJin, HaSeul)” (2016) can be heard in the background. This foreshadows HaSeul’s appearance, wearing the same outfit and carrying bags from the music video of “The Carol”.

[3:54] Both the cygnet and penguin plushes are together at the the window sill, possibly signifying that both Chuu and Yves did meet.

The B-side of Chuu’s single is titled “Girl’s Talk”. Quickly pronouncing this may lead to “girl stalk”, which is kind of what’s going in Chuu’s music video. This may have a connection with the book ViVi has in “Every Day I Love You” (MMM 2017-04-17).

Fans correctly guessed that Chuu was LOOΠΔ’s tenth member after Yves showed her phone on episode 230 of LOOΠΔ TV, a week before Chuu was officially revealed.² Yves had a sticker on the back of her phone addressing Chuu’s real name.³
