The first teaser for this release showed an image with the numbers “1-2 2-6 2-1 1-5”. This maps to rows and columns on a QWERTY keyboard, i.e., row 1/col 2 = W, etc. Decoding all the coordinates spells out “WHAT”, the name of the title track.

The third teaser showed a phone with a numpad keyboard and a triangle drawn on a mirror. Centering the triangle on a 4x3 numpad, the corners that align to numbers create 3! permutations: 290, 902, 029, 209, 092, 920. 920 represents 9/20 (September 20), the release day of the song.

The September 6 teaser video was shot at Mapo Bridge in Seoul. This is a common place of suicide, causing some fans to be distraught. Happyface Entertainment quickly removed the video from social media, issuing an apology.
